Introduction

Grama Panchayat is the most basic unit of local self-government in Kerala. Gram Panchayats play a crucial role in fulfilling the daily needs of the people and ensuring rural development. Under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, various administrative, developmental and welfare functions have been assigned to Gram Panchayats.
