7. Key Financial Insights (Key Financial Insights)
High Dependence on Grants:The Panchayat's total income is dependent on revenue grants from the State and Central Governments for more than 80%.
Own Revenue Potential:The own revenue generated through property tax, profession tax, and licence fees is less than 8% of total income. Tax collection needs to be made more efficient.
Development Expenditure:The lion's share of the funds has been utilized for infrastructure sectors such as road construction, drinking water projects, and housing (Life Mission).
Financial Health & Surplus:The Panchayat maintains a profitable/surplus (₹ 44.12 lakh) financial position during the financial year. An adequate bank balance (₹ 3.35 crore) is available.
8. Recommendations (Recommendations)
Increase Own Revenue: Conduct special arrears settlement camps to collect building tax arrears and increase revenue through licences.
Timely Fund Utilization: Systematically utilize the plan funds allocated for development projects from the beginning of the financial year itself to avoid rush during the final months.
Asset Management (Asset Management): Properly maintain buildings, drinking water projects, and other public assets owned by the Panchayat and keep the asset register updated.
